“The fact that [the ads are] un-retouched—I thought that would be so fun, and something that I’d love to see the people I look up to doing,” Roberts, 24, told Us Weekly at an event celebrating the campaign launch, hosted at the Eric Buterbaugh Perfumery in L.A. on Friday, Aug. 21.

The Scream Queens actress added, “I have a little sister who’s 14, and I see how insecure she gets looking at photos on Instagram and Twitter. People post photos that aren’t real. So to be able to be like, ‘This is me as Emma, not Emma Roberts,’ was important to me. As an actress, who’s always doing shoots getting their hair and makeup done, putting on these outfits that aren’t necessarily you, I felt it was important to do something that was me.”

The flirty, playful pics, which were shot by Ali Mitton, feature Roberts with her hair casually styled into loose waves and her cheeks boasting a flushed, rosy hue. She’s wearing the lounge brand’s girlish threads including lingerie with lace details, cozy cardigans, and oodles of plaid.

The sweet styling comes from Roberts’ close friends and stylists, Britt and Kara Smith. “I’m a real girl—I have my insecurities, I have my bad days,” she told Us. “With this campaign, we tried to give people a glimpse into my real life, so my best friends, who are also my stylists, styled me for the shoot.”
