Jennifer Aniston Shines in a Backless White Minidress the Night Before Oscar Snub: See Her Red Carpet Look

Jennifer Aniston strayed from her red carpet uniform of basic black by donning a backless white frock for the Cake premiere in Los Angeles on Jan. 14.

If you expected Jennifer Aniston‘s promotional wardrobe for Cake to be a continuous stream of black gowns, you’re in for a pleasant surprise.

Despite missing out on an Oscar nomination, announced on Thursday, Jan. 15, the actress, 45, did a style 180 from her Saint Laurent black gown at the 2015 Golden Globes for the Los Angeles premiere of her buzzworthy flick the night before on Jan. 14.

The star stepped out of her comfort zone in a white Giambattista Valli minidress with black Christian Louboutin pumps. The dress contained several interesting design elements including a bibbed neckline, a silk skirt with floral embroidery, and a scalloped cutout feature put the star’s toned back on display.

Aniston’s makeup artist Angela Levin gave her a luminous glow inspired by the spring. “I brushed an even amount of Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet Smooth-Effect Makeup all over the face and neck using a brush and blending it out with a sponge,” Levin tells Us. To get Aniston’s peach hued cheeks and lips she used Chanel Le Blush Creme de Chanel in Intonation and two lip colors: Chanel Rouge Coco Hydrating Creme Lip Color in Caractere and Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine in Ingenue.

The actress told Variety that her part in Cake was “beyond a dream role.”

“She basically has to decide whether she wants to live or die,” Aniston said of her role as a woman addicted to painkillers. “The woman’s journey is so heartbreaking but so uplifting, because she’s gone through a trauma but maintains her wit, which is very endearing.”
