Not your typical activewear. Kate Middleton wore an unexpected outfit to throw a few punches on Monday, May 16, at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
The Duchess of Cambridge, 34, put her jab-and-cross skills to the test in a mix of high and low price points. Along with her red-and-white boxing gloves, she paired the Goat Binky Blouse in white ($460, goatfashion.com) with the more budget-friendly Banana Republic Geo Printed Midi Skirt ($138, Banana Republic stores), while finishing the ensemble with teal Rupert Sanderson pumps.
Middleton, along with her husband, Prince William, and his brother, Prince Harry, established Heads Together, a group of nonprofits involved in well-being that hope to take away the stigma surrounding mental health. The boxing station, put on by the U.K.–based Mind charity, was one of many at the Heads Together launch event.
Middleton and the two brothers also stopped at a stand for the radio station The Mix, which provides mental health support to people under 25, and made a few requests to the DJ. The mother of George, 2, and Charlotte, 12 months, chose Emeli Sande‘s “Heaven,” while Prince William went for his favorite workout tune, “Heartbeat Loud” by Andy C, and Prince Harry opted for Beyoncé‘s collaboration with Naughty Boy, “Running.”
Before the end of the event, the three royals spoke out on the importance of these charities. “Too often, people feel afraid to admit that they are struggling with their mental health,” Middleton said. “This fear of judgment stops people from getting the help they need, which can destroy families and lives. Heads Together wants to help everyone feel much more comfortable with their everyday mental well-being, and to have the practical tools to support their friends and family.”
