Welcome back to the red carpet, Kristen Stewart!
The Twilight Saga actress, 24, has been holding out on us the last couple of months: She hasn’t been spotted gussied up for a red carpet since her appearance at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2014.
But good things come to those who wait! On Monday, Oct. 6, the Snow White and the Huntsman actress stepped out to the New York premiere of her latest film, Camp X-Ray, in which she plays a soldier stationed in Guantanamo Bay.
Fitting, then, that her sheer J. Mendel minidress played like a form of high-fashion camouflage, boasting red, black, and green strings woven together in a faded patchwork design. She finished the ensemble with a pair of Christian Louboutin pumps, which a source told Us Weekly she removed as soon as she entered the screening’s cocktail hour so that she could roam about freely.
On her face, the Chanel fashion model used, of course, nothing but Chanel products to create her signature smoky-eyed look. Celeb makeup artist Jillian Dempsey combined the black shade in the Chanel QuadraEye Shadow in Smoky Eyes palette with the teal shades in the Fascination palette to craft her jade-tinged statement eye, adding the blue shade from the Fascination palette beneath her eye to brighten the look.
Dempsey then lined the actress’ eyes with Jillian Dempsey Kohl Eyeliner in Jet Black, blending it in with the shadow. The makeup pro finished with Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir, creating long, lush lashes on the star.
After years of playing teen vamp Bella Swan, Stewart told THR than she relished playing a “normal” gal in Camp X-Ray. “I really like the idea of playing a girl who we all might know from high school, who is shaped by whatever odd but incredibly normal childhood she may have had, and is somebody who wants to push a little bit harder and wants to figure out what the right thing to do is,” said Stewart.
