All-black threads for snooping? Not if you’re a Little Liar!
In Pretty Little Liars‘ February 9 episode, “Do Not Disturb,” Team Sparia — a.k.a. Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Aria (Lucy Hale) — team up to figure out just what Sara Harvey (Dre Davis) is doing in Rosewood. Naturally, such snooping calls for a wardrobe change.
“We call Aria’s look here a ‘sleuthing look,’ ” costume designer Cameron Dale exclusively tells Us Weekly. “This usually indicates the girls are investigating something and getting into some trouble along the way.”

That demands a little practicality. ” ‘Trouble’ can sometimes include a stunt, so I like to keep the girls in a jean or trouser to hide any stunt pads or uncouth moments while crawling or climbing,” Dale explains.
In this case, Dale chose a printed blouse from Topshop petite with slim, maroon Tory Burch trousers for Aria. But she did sneak in one fierce accessory. “Aria’s Stella & Dot earrings make the look for me — they have a little blue tassel at the end that adds a great pop of color,” the designer shares.

OK, make that two less-than-detective-like add-ons! “Lucy is game for a crazy heel and loved these Dolce & Gabbana wedges I shopped for the look,” Dale adds. “Most people would topple over in these beasts, but Lucy could run a marathon in six-inch wedges.”
