8 Reasons Nick Viall Will Be the Best Bachelor Ever

Take four! In a move that seriously shocked fans, Nick Viall was chosen as the Bachelor season 21 star, ABC announced on After Paradise Tuesday, August 30.

“I’ve certainly had the practice,” Viall, 35, said on After Paradise. “I’m definitely ready for it — I’m very excited.”

While some viewers were upset that Luke Pell and Chase McNary (from season 12 of The Bachelorette with JoJo Fletcher) weren’t given the leading role, many were thrilled that The Bachelorette favorite is back. Here are eight reasons why the software sales executive will make the best Bachelor ever. Watch them all in the video above!

1. He’s Brave (or Crazy).

He doesn’t give up. Viall has proved he’s truly “here for the right reasons” after attempting to find love twice on The Bachelorette (seasons 10 and 11 with Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe, respectively) and once on Bachelor in Paradise season 3. No matter how many times it doesn’t work out, he’s always optimistic and willing to take a chance on new relationships. Plus, this time he’ll finally be free of nemesis Josh Murray, who stole both Dorfman and Amanda Stanton from Viall.

2. He’s Gone From Villain to Fan Favorite.

While he’s a sweet guy, he’s also been controversial and polarizing. On “After the Final Rose” for Dorfman’s season, he asked her, “If you weren’t in love with me, I’m not sure why you made love with me?” Some viewers were not happy that he called out the private, intimate details of their fantasy suite date; some critics accused him of “slut-shaming” Dorfman. He also slept with Bristowe before the fantasy suites, causing the whole show to shuffle the order of events by giving everyone else a fantasy suite date before hometown visits.

3. He Fesses Up About His Past.

While Murray dismissed unflattering claims in Dorfman’s tell-all book as “fiction” and “lies,” Viall has owned up to his personal history. He admitted that some of the stories in It’s Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak Into Happily Never After were, in fact, true. Dorfman wrote that Viall asked if she’d rather “make love or f–k” on their overnight date, which Viall later owned up to saying, but explained that it was a joke.

4. He Likes Strong Women.

His Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise exes — Dorfman, Bristowe and Jen Saviano — have all been confident, outspoken brunettes. We can’t wait to meet the 25 ladies vying for his heart.

5. He Falls Fast.

Viall fell hard for Bristowe despite joining her season several weeks into the show. The Bachelorette alum knows how to win over the ladies, so there’s no doubt we’ll see his suave moves on The Bachelor

6. He’s Got Great One-Liners.

He cracks Us up! Besides his self-deprecating sense of humor (ahem, his job title as runner-up on BIP), he also does pretty spot-on impressions of his fellow contestants.

7. Bachelor Nation Is Pumped.

Everyone is excited for Viall to finally get his turn as the Bachelor, well everyone except Chad Johnson. Bristowe told Us Weekly that she’s “happy for him.”

8. He’s Got Rock-Hard Abs.

Swoon! The Milwaukee native recently showed off his six-pack on Bachelor in Paradise and in several shirtless Instagram pics! He’s definitely been hitting the gym to get those chiseled abs.
