As Alec Baldwin steps out of the spotlight, his daughter, Ireland Baldwin, is taking a big step in it. Us Weekly has exclusively learned that the 18-year-old model is going to be a fashion correspondent during the live red carpet coverage on TVGN Live With ET at the Oscars on Sunday, March 2.
Ireland, who filmed a promo for the show on Monday, Feb. 24, will join hosts Nancy O'Dell, Rob Marciano, Rocsi Diaz, Brooke Anderson, and Joe Zee.
The young model told Us Weekly Monday that she's a little nervous for her upcoming live TV gig. "I'm not used to being on camera so it's interesting, but it's so much fun working with Joe," she told Us. "It just feels like you're having a conversation. . . I'm into it, I love it."
Ireland has been modeling for less than a year, and been featured in W Magazine, Vanity Fair, DuJour and others. Earlier this month, she walked the runway in the annual Heart Truth Red Dress Collection show on Feb. 6.
While Ireland makes a name for herself in the fashion industry, her famous father says he's retiring from public life. In the Feb. 24 issue of New York Magazine, The 55-year-old Emmy-winning actor said he would no longer be discussing his personal life with the press. "Now I loathe and despise the media in a way I did not think possible," Alec said, after his years of scuffles with paparazzo and reporters. " I'm aware that it's ironic that I'm making this case in the media — but this is the last time I'm going to talk about my personal life in an American publication ever again."
