And then there was one. After taunting us for three weeks with the knowledge that only one person from the core cast of My Roanoke Nightmare would survive to see the season finale of FX’s award-winning series, American Horror Story spilled the beans — not to mention an entire steaming pile of intestines — in this year’s penultimate episode.

It’s official: Lee (Adina Porter) is the sole survivor of the latest massacre at the Mott mansion (although she may be surviving in prison, considering that she’s a confessed murderer). And that’s not all: In a brief teaser clip of scenes from next week, AHS revealed that a major character from a previous season will appear in the finale, creating a bridge between Roanoke and Asylum that’ll definitely make fans go hmm. Here are the top five biggest moments from the Wednesday, November 9, episode.

Fresh (and Familiar) Meat!

Taissa Farmiga, a veteran of multiple American Horror Story seasons, made her long-awaited appearance this week as the ultra-woke leader of a My Roanoke Nightmare fan site on the hunt for the famous house. Thanks to a selfie stick and multiple GoPro cameras, we got to see a lot of Taissa in her Roanoke debut — right up to the point where she was captured by the torch-wielding Butcher and burned at the stake, along with her friend.

Piggy Man Knows How to Uber

The best shot of the episode: a dash-cam flashback to Dylan (Wes Bentley) riding to the house in full Piggy Man getup … as one does. (Let’s be real, this wouldn’t even make the top 10 list of weirdest things to happen in the backseat of an Uber.)

Gutted Like a Pig

And the grossest shot of the episode? A disemboweling — but not any old disemboweling! Noooo. We’ve seen plenty of intestines on Roanoke already, enough that they’re hardly even shocking anymore. But add in a GoPro helmet cam and a first-person perspective shot of the guy handling his own innards, and hey! That sure was new and different [gives thumbs-up; vomits discreetly between couch cushions].

Lee Cleans House

The sole survivor of the Roanoke massacre didn’t manage it all by herself; she got by with a little help from her friend the Forest Witch, who tapped her as a minion to go forth and kill the remaining visitors, including Monet (Angela Bassett) and Audrey (Sarah Paulson), as well as the recently arrived digital kids.

An Asylum Connection

Although this didn’t technically happen during the episode itself, it was the moment that made us gasp the loudest: a shot of Lee, professionally made-up and smiling for the camera, sitting on a TV talk-show couch across from none other than … Lana Winters. That’s right: Sarah Paulson‘s Roanoke character might be gone, but her investigative journalist from Asylum will be showing up to take her place! All we need now is a cameo by Jessica Lange doing a reprise of “The Name Game” and our lives will be complete.
