Andrew Lloyd Webber would be proud! The Bachelorette‘s Monday, June 27, episode included Derek‘s tearful exit to the tune of “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina,” JoJo Fletcher scolding Jordan Rodgers for poor poker etiquette and Wells becoming season 12’s first guy to get cut during a one-on-one — and of course, Twitter users had plenty to say about it all!
Arguably the episode’s most unforgettable moment was JoJo picking Chase over Derek in Buenos Aires during the second two-on-one date of the season, after Derek had taunted Chase earlier in the episode by telling him he’d be going home.
Instead, it was Derek who was soon seen in the limo telling himself not to cry, which was spliced together with footage of Chase and JoJo romantically enjoying a performance of the pivotal song from Evita. Needless to say, Chase and JoJo did not keep their distance.
Also igniting Twitter was JoJo pulling Jordan aside after James threw him under the bus and accused him of acting like an entitled celebrity during a card game. Jordan later referred to James’ move as “pathetic,” and Twitter appeared to agree.
Among those reacting to the episode on Twitter were contestants Derek and Luke, along with notorious season 12 castoff (and enemy to metal doors everywhere) Chad Johnson. Johnson weighed in on what he thinks of the show now that he’s no longer around to do normal things like threaten to hunt people down after filming wraps. Just normal, level-headed stuff.
Check out the reactions below, which include opinions from Bachelor fanatic Jenny McCarthy and franchise alum Ryan Sutter (aka Bachelorette OG Trista‘s other half).
Yikes, that was awkward. Sorry Wells, I think you’re a goner. #TheBachelorette

I didn’t kiss @tristasutter until the final four. I wanted to, but I’m shy. Whatever. Worked out just fine. #TheBachelorette

James. The last time someone said something bad about Jordan Rodgers he was left in the middle of the woods. #TheBachelorette

Jordan: “We should play the card game by this rule. It’s more fun that way.”
