Making a splash! The Bachelorette season 12 runner-up Robby Hayes showed off his brand-new smile during the After the Final Rose special on Monday, August 1, and now he’s opening up exclusively to Us Weekly about the transformation. Watch the Jacksonville, Florida, native discuss his pearly whites in the video above!
Hayes, a former competitive swimmer who already had great teeth, tells Us he wasn’t expecting to make a major change to his appearance when he initially visited Smile Stylist cosmetic dentist Dr. Jason Olitsky in Jacksonville.
“The doctor is a good friend of mine and a huge fan of the show,” Hayes, 27, says. “Basically, I went in there looking for a slight touch-up, like a few months of Invisalign. My teeth weren’t bad to begin with, but I thought they could be a little better.”
“Well, when I walked in, everyone — including the doctor — was so excited and was more than ready to help me in any way they possibly could, because I was a hometown favorite,” he continues.
Hayes put his faith in the doctor and his team, and he is quite pleased with his new look. “When I told Dr. Olitsky what I thought would be best for me, he had some other plans,” Hayes says. “So he [decided on] the best dental plan for me, and him being my dentist, I trusted him and went that route. Very happy with the results!”
The season 12 standout also appears in a promotional video for Smile Stylist in which he discusses his process and hilariously re-creates a rose ceremony with the dental office’s team.
Hayes, who was heartbroken when JoJo Fletcher sent him home from Thailand in her season finale on August 1, appears to be more ready than ever to show the world his new grin. A source exclusively revealed to Us that Hayes is “doing really well” after having learned that the Bachelorette had stronger feelings for Jordan Rodgers. The insider added, “With the help of family and friends, he’s progressively been able to move on.”
