Beyonce’s “Blue” Video Features Sweet Footage of Daughter Blue Ivy: Watch a Preview!

Blue Ivy is the star of Beyonce‘s life — and now she’s the star of the singer’s new video for “Blue,” too. On Friday, Dec. 13, the “Love on Top” songstress released a surprise self-titled “visual album” via iTunes, with 14 songs and 17 complementary videos. One of these song-video pairings is a tribute to her 23-month-old daughter.

In a 30-second preview clip of the video posted to Bey’s YouTube page, the music superstar can be seen carrying her little girl and walking away from the camera. There are also shots of kids playing on the beach and twerking in the street, interspersed with shots of Jay Z’s wife sitting on a porch and singing.

“We can last forever,” she croons. “Come on, baby, won’t you hold on to me, hold on to me?”

In a mini-doc about the album posted to Beyonce’s Facebook page, the Destiny’s Child alum explained that she wanted her fans to experience her music the way she does — with pictures. “When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion,” she said. “A memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies.”

“I wanted people to hear the songs with the story that’s in my head, ’cause it’s what makes it mine,” she continued. “I wanted everyone to see the whole picture, and to see how personal everything is to me.”
