Lindsay Lohan may have told Us Weekly she was born to play Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime’s biopic Liz & Dick, but as it turns out, Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel plays the part pretty well, too.
In a parody clip filmed for E!’s The Soup, Fishel — in the news this week as a result of her Girl Meets World casting — dons a slinky black dress and wig to play Lohan playing Elizabeth Taylor in the much-hyped made-for-TV movie that aired Nov. 25.
“Why am I playing Lindsay Lohan, anyway? Excuse me for being a well-adjusted child star!” Fishel, 31, fumes in the spoof.
Later, the actress throws beer bottles at the wall and cries, cackles and moans just like Lohan, 26, did when personifying the screen legend. “I’m so bored!” Fishel screams, in character as Lohan, before making out with a headshot photograph of The Soup host Joel McHale and then ripping the picture to shreds.
Sitting down with Us Weekly‘s Jennifer Peros for a candid interview before Liz & Dick aired, Lohan said that her life in the spotlight prepared her to play the iconic actress. “Everything I’ve gone through made me ready to play Liz,” said Lohan, who was most recently arrested Nov. 29 after a New York City nightclub brawl.
As her laundry list of legal woes grow — she’s had five stints in rehab, seven arrests and more than 20,000 minutes behind bars — Lohan told Us she’s anxious to change her public image, with a little help from Taylor.
“She probably would have said, ‘Figure it the hell out,'” Lohan told Peros of how the Cleopatra star might have advised her. “You have to learn it for yourself sometimes.”
