Cher Debuts “Woman’s World” on The Voice, First TV Performance in 10 Years

It’s a Woman’s World — Cher‘s, to be exact. The 67-year-old singer made her live TV return for the Tuesday, June 18 season 4 finale of The Voice. Debuting her new single “Woman’s World” — and singing on live TV for the first time since 2003 — the legendary star donned a typically wacky, sexy look that featured a purple faux-hawk wig and turban-like headband, a leather-and-mesh top and suspenders.

The Oscar winner told Us Weekly after the show that she never thought she’d appear on the NBC smash. “I never thought I’d be asked!” she admitted. “‘Oh yeah Cher, you just turned 67. How about coming on The Voice?'”

The Moonstruck star wasn’t sure how to explain her look for the night.

“It just is what it is, I don’t know! I’m at kind of a Luxe Punk thing right now . . . hair and makeup and clothes are expressions of who you are and it’s fun to do. And it doesn’t mean anything really, it’s pretty superficial but it’s fun, you know?”

As for her amazingly fit body? “I was a tomboy at five years old and I have never stopped,” the mother of two explained. “I played baseball, I never stopped moving. I just never stopped moving. I must say, I really enjoy it. I really have a great trainer and we have fun and we just did like, I don’t know, 5,000 miles watching Downton Abbey”!

And Voice fans may be seeing more of Cher in the future, too: “They have the little mentor-coaches for a week or something like that and I think that would be fun,” Cher told Us. “I’d enjoy that.”
