Ready for a fight! Game of Thrones‘ Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth) was a guest on Conan on Thursday, April 7, where he debuted a tense clip for the hit HBO drama’s upcoming sixth season.
The footage shows Davos drawing his sword to protect the corpse of Jon Snow (Kit Harington) — yes, the corpse! He’s really dead! — from members of the Night’s Watch at Castle Black. He is accompanied by a few loyalists to the late Lord Commander, along with the direwolf Ghost.
“I’ve never been much of a fighter,” Davos says. “Apologies for what you’re about to see.”
Meanwhile, Ser Alliser Thorne (Owen Teale), Olly (Brenock O’Connor) and others begin to break down the door on the other side of the wall. A snippet of this scene also appears in the full season 6 promo, released last month.
Snow was stabbed multiple times by his brothers of the Night’s Watch in season 5, but remains the source of much speculation among fans of the series based on George R.R. Martin‘s books. Harington’s character has appeared in marketing for the new season, although HBO referred to him as dead in a press release on Thursday, April 7.
Watch the scene unfold in the video above.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO Sunday, April 24, at 9 p.m. ET.
