It's clobberin' time! The first trailer for Marvel's upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four dropped Tuesday, Jan. 27, and it features Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell as the latest superheroes of Marvel's superhero franchise.
The trailer begins with a voice rumored to belong to Dr. Franklin Storm. "Human beings have an immeasurable desire to discover, to invent, to build," the voice says ominously. "Our future depends on us furthering these ideals, a responsibility that rests on the shoulders of generations to come. But with very new discovery, there is risk, there is sacrifice, and there are consequences."
With the last Fantastic Four film released in 2007, the new movie has generated widespread buzz after it was revealed that the screenplay was written by Simon Kinberg and the flick was directed by Josh Trank.
It also helps to have a star-studded lineup of up-and-coming stars — Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch/Johnny Storm, Kate Mara as The Invisible Woman/Sue Storm, Miles Teller as Mister Fantastic/Reed Richards, and Jamie Bell as The Thing/Ben Grimm.
The stars to portray the same characters in the 2005 and 2007 films were Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Michael Chiklis, respectively.
The villain in the reboot will be Victor Domashev/Dr. Doom, portrayed by actor Toby Kebbell.
Jordan teased the upcoming reboot to Us Weekly last fall, saying he was honored to tackle the classic superhero role of The Human Torch. "It took a while to get it all together, but we are incredibly excited to see it happening," the That Awkward Moment actor told Us. "Johnny Storm is such an original character. It was amazing to be able to bring my own take to him. I think people are going to like what we did with it. It's a great cast."
Fantastic Four will premiere Aug. 7. Watch the new teaser above!
