Marque Lynche Jr., a former Mickey Mouse Club member and American Idol finalist, died on Sunday, Dec. 6, TMZ and The Wrap report. He was 34.
Lynche, who also went by the name Tate, was found by his roommate in their New York City apartment on Sunday, a New York Police Department spokesperson told The Wrap. The cause of death is not currently known, and police are investigating.
Lynche appeared on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club from 1993 to 1995, alongside such stars as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Ryan Gosling.
He was also a finalist on American Idol’s third season and appeared in an off-Broadway production of Fame.
Several former Mickey Mouse Club members took to social media to offer their condolences.
“Damn,” Dale Godboldo wrote. “I spoke with Marque a few months ago, and his spirit was as beautiful as ever. Love and prayers to your family. RIP my man. You will be missed.”
