Heather Locklear is back in action!
Eight months after a source told Us Weekly the actress secretly entered rehab, the ’90s TV icon was photographed in between takes on the set of her latest movie, Scary Movie 5, in Atlanta, Georgia, September 18. Locklear, 50, looked more youthful than ever in a figure-flattering black jumpsuit.
“Just met Heather Locklear, who is playing my mom,” Ashley Tisdale, 27, tweeted two days earlier. “I don’t think she has aged. She’s beautiful.”
Directed by Malcolm D. Lee, Scary Movie 5 also stars Lindsay Lohan, 26, Charlie Sheen, 47, and Molly Shannon, 48. It marks the first time Locklear will appear on the big screen since the 2009 drama Flying By.
Locklear’s career appears to be back on track after she was rushed to the Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, California, January 12. (The actress’ sister was reportedly scared she had overdosed on a combination of alcohol and prescription pills.)
At the time, Locklear was reeling from her broken engagement to Melrose Place costar Jack Wagner, 52. She was also upset about the state of her career, two insiders told Us. “She’s very Hollywood,” one source explained. “It drove her crazy that she never hit another big moment after the ’90s.” According to a second source, “When people saw her as washed up, that made her crazy.”
If the last few weeks are any indication, Locklear (who is mom to Ava, 14, her daughter with ex Richie Sambora, 53) is well on her way to making a comeback. On September 13, she joined her former Melrose Place costars Marcia Cross, 50, Daphne Zuniga, 49, Josie Bissett, 41, Grant Show, 50, Laura Leighton, 44, and Rob Estes, 49, for a reunion photo shoot in L.A. Later that night, they went out for drinks at the Culver Hotel in Culver City, California.
“The thing we kept saying was what a great time we had making the show, and how we wish we had appreciated it then as much as we do now. That is a lesson learned from growing up, living life, and yes, getting older,” Zuniga wrote on her official website. “We loved seeing each other again. Though all our lives have gone in different directions, we all exchanged emails and phone numbers and vowed to stay in touch.”
