Taylor, is that you? The latest country love song comes from an unlikely place — former child star and little sister of Britney, Jamie Lynn Spears. The now-21-year-old mom just released her debut single, “How Could I Want More,” surprising fans with the quality and country twang.
The simple love song is reminiscent of Taylor Swift‘s early, acoustic work in 2006 songs like “Tim McGraw” and “Teardrops on My Guitar.”
Jamie Lynn also recorded the track “Chillin’ With You” for her sister Britney’s upcoming album, Britney Jean, and plans to release a full-length country album of her own.
“I’m excited to work with my sis, but even moreee excited for y’all to hear what I’ve been working sooo hard on the past 5 years! #staytuned,” Jamie Lynn tweeted earlier this month.
Spears’ career started off promising, with a lead role on Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101. But when she got pregnant at the age of 16, the actress decided to step out of the spotlight to raise her daughter Maddie, now 5.
After breaking up with Maddie’s father, Spears got together with boyfriend Jamie Watson, and after three years of dating, he proposed in March 2013.
