Jared Fogle‘s cameo in Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! is officially dead in the water. On Wednesday, July 8, one day after Subway severed ties with its longtime spokesman, a rep for Sharknado‘s Syfy network told Us Weekly Fogle’s scenes have been cut from July 22’s broadcast.
Fogle’s axed cameo in the popular made-for-TV movie is the latest in a string of bad news. Hours after Fogle’s Indiana home was raided by the FBI in connection with a child pornography investigation, Subway announced that they were parting ways with the pitchman, 37. “Subway and Jared Fogle have mutually agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation,” a spokesperson for the sandwich chain told Us. “Jared continues to cooperate with authorities and he expects no actions to be forthcoming. Both Jared and Subway agree that this was the appropriate step to take.”
Prior to Fogle’s home being raided, Russell Taylor, the former executive director of Fogle’s Jared Foundation, was arrested and jailed on charges of possessing and producing child pornography. Taylor attempted and failed to commit suicide in jail after authorities found more than 500 videos in his home.
During his collegiate career at Indiana University, Fogle allegedly ran an adult video rental service out of his dorm room. Subway claimed to have no knowledge of the incident, which came to light in 2007.
Sharknado: Oh Hell No!, costarring Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, Mark Cuban, and David Hasselhoff, airs July 22 on Syfy.
