Another member of the Dead. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast as Negan — the newest character on The Walking Dead and the show’s biggest villain — on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The Good Wife star, 49, will be playing the villainous character from Robert Kirkman’s comic book series on AMC’s hit show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Negan — who is the violent leader of a group in the comic books known as the Saviors — is set to arrive in the Season 6 finale of the show and will reportedly become a series regular in the seventh season.
Arguably one of the most highly anticipated comic characters to appear on the AMC show thus far, Negan is known for frequently using the F-word and beating Glenn’s head in with his baseball bat in the comic.
As fans of the show know, Glenn — who is played by Steven Yeun in the show — appeared to be killed off earlier this season when his guts were ripped out by zombies. While many diehards are debating whether Glenn is truly dead on the show, it remains to be seen, if he is still alive, whether he will be the one getting hit by Negan’s powerful bat.
The show’s Ross Marquand — who plays Aaron — exclusively spoke to Us Weekly about the upcoming season finale to wrap up the year.
“We’re about to shoot the finale, and it’s maybe the darkest bit of writing I’ve ever read,” he revealed to Us. “It genuinely is one of the craziest, most gut-wrenching episodes I’ve ever read in my life.”
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
