Watch out ,Anastasia! Kim Basinger has landed a role in the Fifty Shades of Grey sequel Fifty Shades Darker, Variety reports.
Basinger, 62, will play Elena Lincoln, Christian Grey’s former lover. As fans of the NSFW story know, Elena is also Christian’s business partner. He lost his virginity to Elena when she seduced him Mrs. Robinson–style back in the day. (The Oscar-winning actress is no stranger to steamy roles: One of her most well-known performances was opposite Mickey Rourke in 1986’s erotic drama 9 1/2 Weeks.)
E L James, who penned the phenomenally bestselling trilogy, reacted to the casting news via Twitter on Thursday, January 28. “Here you go,” she wrote with a smiley face. She also linked to Variety’s story.
Basinger will be joining Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson on set. The stars are reprising their roles as Christian and Anastasia Steele, respectively.
As previously reported, Fifty Shades Darker and the franchise’s last installment, Fifty Shades Freed, will film back-to-back.
Fifty Shades Darker hits theaters February 10, 2017.
