Haven’t gotten enough of Pauly Shore of late? Kocktails With Khloe is here to help. On the Wednesday, March 30, episode of the late-night talk show, Khloe Kardashian sat down with Kendra on Top star Kendra Wilkinson, musician Trey Songz, Awkward‘s Jillian Rose Reed and Bio-Dome legend (we use that term loosely) Shore. As the fivesome sipped drinks called Gracias Mi Amor, they caught up on important topics ranging from whether Khloe got into a brawl with Blac Chyna, how Kendra and husband Hank Baskett dealt with explaining their marital troubles to their children and why Khloe only dates black guys.
Khloe and Chyna Did Not Get Into a Fight
Khloe opened the show by squashing rumors that she and Rob Kardashian‘s girlfriend (i.e., Chyna, who happens to be the baby mama of Kylie Jenner‘s boyfriend) got into a fight. Spoiler alert: They didn’t.
“It’s like a soap opera episode, so it sounds very dramatic, which it is,” Khloe admitted. “But I actually haven’t seen Chyna in a few years, but her and I did not get into a fight, but I do love a good fight.” So there’s nothing else to say about that. Did Kendra and Hank Tell Their Kids He Allegedly Had an Affair With a Transgender Model?
Umm. No. “We’re trying to obviously beat all this to the punch and just teach our kids who we are and show them love and show them happy parents and be as open as we can,” Kendra explained. “I’m a free spirit. I walk around naked … so I’m going to teach free-spirit stuff to my kids, so they know to each their own. If you’re not harming someone or doing harm to yourself, be the person you want to be.” It wasn’t really an answer to the question about what they did or didn’t tell their kids about their marital troubles, but that was probably intended. “We have a job to help each other, care for each other. If someone needs your help, you better stick it out with them.”
Naturally, Khloe used this comment to springboard back to her favorite topic: Lamar Odom. “My stance with Lamar was bigger than me or my personal opinions of what he was doing,” she said. “He was a person who obviously needed my help. I’m not going to let anyone wake up in a hospital room by themselves. So it does become bigger than you.”
Khloe Revealed That She Didn’t Let Caitlyn Visit Lamar in the Hospital
In a slightly awkward moment, Pauly asked Khloe if she ever had a hard time keeping a straight face talking to Bruce Jenner when they were filming Keeping Up With the Kardashians, but he had long hair and had already sort of started his transition to Caitlyn Jenner. (The comedian’s exact words were pretty bumbled, but Khloe got what he meant.)
“Do I think that Caitlyn has opened up a ton of opportunities for other people? Sure, and all I want at the end of the day is Caitlyn to be happy and to feel good about herself,” the hostess replied. She then added (drumroll please), “Not to bring Lamar into this, but when he had his accident, and he was in the hospital, Caitlyn was like, ‘I want to come see Lamar.'” Hey, it had been nearly five minutes since she’d last mentioned her estranged husband.
In any case, the story she told was pretty interesting. “When Caitlyn wanted to come and say hi to Lamar, Lamar did not know about Caitlyn at that time,” Khloe revealed. “Lamar was in a coma, and Lamar was in the hospital for four months, and I kept Lamar very sheltered. During that time, when Caitlyn was transitioning, but also prior to Lamar’s accident, Lamar was not in the best state. I wasn’t there to see him, but … I can’t guarantee he was watching television.” She took a moment and then continued, “So when Caitlyn wanted to come and visit Lamar for the first time, that was in the hospital — I wanted to respect Caitlyn being Caitlyn, but I also didn’t feel comfortable in Lamar’s healing, him seeing someone that he knew that was once a man, somebody else.”
Khloe also feared what Lamar’s reaction might be and didn’t want to “offend” Caitlyn, so she made the “very awkward” decision not to let Caitlyn come see Lamar. “I was like, ‘It’s not the right time. Let’s wait until this person has some healing time,'” she explained.
Ultimately, they met at Kanye West’s fashion show in New York — not exactly the intimate, controlled environment Khloe had likely envisioned. “It was interesting because I did not know that Caitlyn … was going to be there. I didn’t realize that was going to be their first interaction, and it was in front of a lot of people and just for anybody to digest.” She praised Lamar for handling it with “a lot of grace,” though she admitted “afterwards, it was just …” She trailed off, indicating there were some conversations (and probably questions) from Lamar after coming face-to-face with Caitlyn that first time.
As a follow-up to that topic, Pauly asked Khloe why she and her sisters only dated black guys. Though at first she tried to deflect the question as “racist,” noting that Kourtney Kardashian had three kids with Scott Disick, who is very (very!) white. Pauly then cited Kim Kardashian being with Kanye, Kylie being with Tyga, and Khloe being with James Harding (though he actually named another, much-older-but-also-black basketball player by accident).
Khloe then revealed she had dated a Moroccan guy before James, but Pauly brushed that off as being “basically” black.
Finally, Khloe conceded, “The relationships that I’ve had tend to be black men.” She went on to admit that she had “never seen a white penis,” and finally shrugged, “I like what I like.”
