‘Married at First Sight’ Husband Asks for a ‘Get Out of Jail Free Card’ to End His Marriage in Sneak Peek

Is another couple throwing in the towel? Nick Pendergrast reveals that he is ready to walk away from his marriage to Sonia Granados in Married at First Sight‘s Tuesday, September 27, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.

The FYI series’ preview clip shows the vacation-rental manager telling Pastor Calvin Roberson about his major spat with Granados. In last week’s episode, the pair got into a heated debate over Pendergrast’s ire at being asked by his wife to open up, leading the social worker to pack up her things and move out of their home.

“She asked, ‘Are you attracted to me?’ or something like that, and I said, ‘My attraction is there, but I don’t feel like it’s where it needs to be,'” Pendergrast says. “But I think the only words she heard was, ‘I’m not attracted to you,’ and then everything else was just, like, in one ear and out the other.”

“[My] attraction [toward her] has dwindled from the beginning, and it’s not something that she’s done,” he explains. “I don’t think she’s ugly by any means. We’re married, but do I feel like I’m a husband? I want to feel that way with someone.”

When Roberson asks if Pendergrast thinks he should get a free pass because this is not a conventional marriage, the beleaguered husband responds, “I get at least one Get Out of Jail Free card. How am I supposed to support her emotionally if I don’t even know how to do that yet?”
