Emily Maynard on Brad Womack Split: I Still Feel So Alone

Two months after calling it quits with her Bachelor boyfriend Brad Womack, Emily Maynard continues to struggle to find her true identity post-breakup.

In an emotional new interview with Bachelor host Chris Harrison, single mom Maynard, 25, says she retreated inward in the wake of calling off her engagement from Womack.

"Right now I just want to focus on being a mom, and not have to worry about…not knowing who to trust," she tells Harrison in a preview from the chat, airing on Monday's episode of The Bachelorette. "It's been really hard on me. You don't know who to turn to so you end up staying by yourself and that makes you even more sad."

As she focuses on raising her 6-year-old daughter, Ricki, in their hometown of Charlotte, N.C., a source tells the new issue of Us Weekly Maynard is slowly coming out of her shell. In the time since her split, Maynard has expressed a firm interest in appearing on The Bachelorette — but not necessarily to find love again.

Though she once said appearing on the series was "the last thing on my mind," the insider tells Us Maynard wants to use her stint on the show to jump-start a broadcast career. "She wants to be famous," the source says of the aspiring TV host.

Maynard is equally as eager to move on from Womack.

"He has issues, and you could tell from the start that it was never going to work with Emily," another insider says. Still, Maynard tried her best, a pal confirms to Us: "She gave it everything she had."
