She is still all about that bass. Meghan Trainor followed up on the huge success of her breakout single with the release of a new song on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
As her “All About That Bass” continues its five-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100, Trainor debuted her sophomore single, “Lips Are Movin.”
The poppy track has a similar feel to the first number, with Trainor even referencing her favorite musical sound as she raps, “Boy, look at me in my face / Tell me that you’re not just about this bass / You really think I could be replaced / Nah, I come from outer space.”
The Massachusetts-born singer, 20, has expressed delight and surprise with the massive success of her hit body-positive single. “It’s still not real,” she told Billboard of her rise to fame. “It’s not real, but it’s amazing.”
Previously focusing on songwriting, Trainor released her “All About That Bass”-led EP Title last month and has plans for a full-length album, which she tells Billboard is “pretty much done” and “should be out soon.”
