VIDEO: Miley Cyrus Sings an Acapella Version of “We Can’t Stop” With Jimmy Fallon and The Roots

Although some haters complain that Miley Cyrus is all about the gimmicks (read: twerking, teddy bears), the unavoidable pop star visited Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Oct. 8 and proved she also has the vocal talents to back up her big persona.

Before sitting down for her interview, Miley sang an acapella version of her smash "We Can't Stop" with Jimmy Fallon and The Roots. The group was set up together in separate colored frames like The Brady Bunch, each singing different parts of the song's melody and harmony.

Miley's pure vocals shone sans instruments or auto tune, and Fallon and Co.'s quirky additions brought new life to the summer anthem, the lead single from fourth album Bangerz, which finally went on sale Tuesday. (Us Weekly's Ian Drew gave the LP four stars.)

This isn't the first time the show has featured memorable acapella versions of popular tunes. Christina Aguilera performed her song "Your Body" with the group, and Mariah Carey sang her classic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" last holiday season.

It's notable that Cyrus was featured alongside such iconic company, and the singer is ready to show that she's more than the famous tongue that refuses to stay in her mouth. After a promising hosting and performing gig on Saturday Night Live, Cyrus told Fallon that she thinks she's shown the public a new side to herself.

"That was a good time for me to show people I don't just twerk and lick stuff, I can actually sing and I can act too," she told Jimmy Fallon.
