She’s alive! A new promo for season 5 of Nashville confirms Hayden Panettiere’s return to the country drama, which will premiere on its new network, CMT, this January.
In the dramatic teaser, which also includes footage of stars Connie Britton (Rayna James) and Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Panettiere’s character Juliette says, “We tape ourselves together so that no one can see our flawed hearts,” as footage from last season is shown of her breaking down and crying.
Britton adds, in the new promo: “We all break — that’s what makes us human.”
The clip marks Panettiere’s return to the small screen after she sought treatment at a rehab facility for postpartum depression following the birth of her daughter, Kaya, in December 2014.
As previously reported, Nashville was canceled by ABC this past May after four seasons, but CMT picked it up for a fifth season in June. Hulu has also partnered with CMT on the series, so after the episodes air on TV, they’ll be available to stream online. The finale had fans wondering if Juliette was dead after her plane went off the radar.

Season 5 of Nashville premieres on CMT with a special two-hour episode on January 5 at 9 p.m. ET.
