Fourth time’s the charm! Nick Viall‘s ex Kaitlyn Bristowe is just one of the many Bachelor Nation alums who will be cheering him on during season 21 of The Bachelor.
“I’m happy for him!” Bristowe, 31, exclusively tells Us Weekly. “Everyone deserves to find someone. I hope it works out.”
Viall, of course, was Bristowe’s runner-up during season 11 of The Bachelorette last year. The Milwaukee native, who had previously vied for Andi Dorfman‘s heart on season 10, was so taken by Bristowe’s appearance on Chris Soules‘ Bachelor season that he joined her group of suitors a few episodes in. She ended up giving her final rose to Shawn Booth, and the couple are still engaged.
Viall made it to the final two on Dorfman’s season too. In the end, though, the Atlanta native, 29, chose Josh Murray. (Dorfman and Murray, 32, split in January 2015, five months after the season 10 Bachelorette finale aired.)
Viall and Murray have butted heads ever since. The two currently star on season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise and briefly fought over another love interest, Amanda Stanton. Viall then hooked up with Ben Higgins‘ ex Jen Saviano on the series, but admitted during his Bachelor announcement that they (obviously!) are no longer together.
“I’ve made my mistakes. I’ve had an interesting process through this journey, and it hasn’t worked so far. Hopefully, things will end up on a more positive note,” Viall told After Paradise cohosts Sean Lowe and Michelle Collins on Tuesday, August 30. “I’m definitely ready for it — I’m really excited. I couldn’t be more excited about the possibility of it working out.”
Viall also revealed what qualities he wants in a fiancée. “Someone who is confident and knows their own self-worth,” he said. “And somebody who makes me a better person and challenges me and isn’t afraid to give as much as I like to.”
