Stop the uprising! Starz announced the premiere date for Outlander‘s second season and also released the first full trailer for the batch of episodes on Thursday, February 11.
The time-traveling romantic drama’s second season will premiere April 9 and center on Claire Randall Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) joining French aristocratic society amid political turmoil. Upping the tension is the fact that Claire is expecting a child with Jamie but also has Frank (Tobias Menzies) waiting for her in the future.
“Promise me that we’ll always find a way back into each other,” Jamie tells her. “Wherever you go, make sure you’re safe.”
In a touching scene, Claire says to him, “Since when were you not up for a challenge?” Another clip shows her revealing that she knows “how the rising begins.”
