The Skinnygirl is backkkk! Four years after her exit from The Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny Frankel returns to Bravo’s Big Apple franchise, joining fellow season 7 cast members Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, Kristen Taekman, Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, and new addition Dorinda Medley.
In an exclusive first look at the new season, Bethenny, 44, delivers her trademark snark (once again!) as she interacts with her fellow NYC Housewives — some old friends, others new. Contrary to rumors about this season not having much drama, the trailer proves otherwise with the fiery mix of eight personalities clashing, getting wasted, and wreaking havoc in NYC, Turks and Caicos, and the Hamptons.
Us broke the news last October that Bethenny was returning to RHONY after a three season-hiatus during which she had a wedding, her own spin-off, and a baby daughter. However, not all things were Bethenny Ever After for the Skinnygirl founder, who has since split from her husband Jason Hoppy — and is currently struggling with a nasty divorce as evidenced in the trailer.
“It’s like starting over,” she tells her therapist in the teaser. “Failed talk show, failed marriage.”
“My divorce has made me a vulnerable person,” she says, later noting with tears in her eyes: “I don’t want the same life back, I just want a new life.”
Meanwhile, her fellow veteran Housewife Ramona is grappling with her own split from her husband of 22 years. “My marriage is down the tube,” she tells a pal, “and in a million years, I never thought this would happen.”
As the longtime Housewife told Us exclusively last August, it took months for her to end her marriage to Mario, after discovering his infidelity with his mistress Kasey Dexter. However, she finally shut the door after discovering last summer that Mario, 61, had cheated again.
While Ramona was more resolute in her interview with Us, the Housewife wavers in the new teaser. “I wish I knew how to fix it,” she says, sobbing as an empathetic Bethenny takes her into her arms. “I want to fix it so badly,” Ramona pleads while Bethenny — who feels her pain — starts to cry too.
The ladies’ somewhat-surprising interaction is a stark contrast from their infamous 2010 fight when Ramona told Bethenny in an argument: “At least I have friends. You have no friends.”
Along with Bethenny, Ramona also turns to her old friend and newbie Dorinda for support. The freshman Housewife, however, has a tragic story of her own after her husband Richard Medley passed away three years ago.
