‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ Recap: Tamra Judge Makes a Big Decision After Vicki Gunvalson’s Apology

Oh, baby! The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s Monday, July 11, episode featured Meghan King Edmonds working on the more painful parts of her IVF treatment, while Vicki Gunvalson was going through tough problems with her own child. Yes, even for the Housewives, motherhood can be rough!

Two Lonely Mamas

This episode of Orange County started very far from home base! Vicki was in Oklahoma to help her daughter, Briana Culberson, and Briana’s young sons move back to California by car. The OG Housewife stood by as Briana cried and hugged her husband goodbye. He was staying behind to sell the house.

If a road trip from Oklahoma City to Orange County sounds painful, it’s nothing compared to what Meghan had to do. To better her chances of getting pregnant with IVF, she was starting to inject herself with medicine. These scenes appeared to have been shot by Meghan herself, alone in the bathroom. Her husband, Jim Edmonds, was away in Florida for spring training, but that didn’t stop her from facing her fear of needles head-on in the hopes of having a baby with him.

It took her 11 minutes to work up the courage, but Meghan injected herself, saying proudly, “I did it!” Afterward, she cried. (Of course, we know now — and Meghan didn’t know this when she was filming this season — that all the pain was worth it because she’s having a baby, with the couple breaking the news in June!)

Girls’ Night (Left) Out

Briana and Meghan weren’t the only ones getting little lonely without their husbands. Kelly Dodd was feeling isolated, too, but in her case, it was from her friends. Meghan called to cancel on their girls’ night out, leaving Kelly to wonder if it had anything to do with the “awkward” encounter she’d had with Meghan, Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador when she admitted to hanging out with their nemesis, Vicki.

Meghan may have canceled, but the other women didn’t, meaning Kelly was suddenly about to spend time with the very people she had alienated by hanging out with the OG! Luckly, Heather Dubrow showed up and alleviated some of the remaining tension between Kelly and the blonde.

Tamra and Shannon were being very icy to Kelly from their side of the table, but she ignored it, choosing instead to tell the women all about her plan to throw a party for all of her new friends, including them. Shannon wasn’t having it.

“Tell Heather who you had lunch with the other day,” Shannon said slyly, prompting a very, very awkward admission from Kelly.

Regret and Sweat

Speaking of Vicki, she wasn’t having any more fun on the 21-hour road trip with Briana than Kelly was having at dinner with her new crew. Briana, who moved back to California to be nearer to doctors who could help with her mysterious infection, was complaining of the pain in her leg the entire time, but the ladies eventually made it to Vicki’s house, where they both wondered if leaving Oklahoma had been best for Briana and her kids.

They weren’t back in Orange County long before Briana’s fever hit 104, and they rushed to the hospital. That left Vicki to care for both little boys on her own, meaning she was running all over the place!

Also breaking a sweat was Tamra, who was still preparing for her fitness competition. Her trainer, Mia, also seemed to be prepping her for a judgment that would be a little heftier than a swimsuit competition. Tamra claimed she prayed for strong Christians to come into her life, and then found Mia, who can recite psalms from memory while calculating a client’s BMI. Tamra even said Mia is like her priest now, but will that be enough to win the fitness competition? Lord only knows!

Life’s a Beach, But What About Vicki?

Tamra was working on perfecting her beach body at just the right time because, as promised, Kelly threw a beach party! She was nervous about wooing her new friends, but as they started showing up and praising all the work she had done, she felt more at ease.

She was worried Vicki wouldn’t show, but sure enough, the insurance maven arrived, telling the camera she was sick of getting the cold shoulder from her friends and was determined to whoop it up anyway. She and Kelly’s brother, Eric, had fun flirting, but her problems followed her to the party. Vicki and Heather ended up talking about Briana, who had to come home with a PICC line in her arm, and who had been arguing with Vicki for days.

“I’ve just decided I’m going to treat her as an acquaintance,” Heather explained to the camera. Even Tamra reached out to Vicki, and they sat and chatted quietly on the beach for a while. Vicki apologized, but it wasn’t a full reconciliation, as she accused Tamra of turning on her during Brooks Ayers’ cancer scandal. Just as soon as the nice conversation began, it devolved, with the women constantly interrupting one another in anger.

“What is the Christian thing to do when it comes to Vicki?” Tamra asked the camera. Where’s Mia when you need her, right?

After more arguing and a little more of Vicki insisting that she never knew Brooks was lying about his cancer, both women began to cry, and Tamra agreed to forgive the OG. She encouraged Vicki to go talk to the other women and seek their forgiveness, too.
