Here Is Who’s So Last Season

There are a few big names from season 1 who won’t be reprising their roles in season 2. Say goodbye to Grace (Skyler Samuels) and her dad, Wes (Oliver Hudson). The Gardners had enough terror the first time around, and it doesn’t appear they’ll be back anytime soon. Ariana Grande (Chanel No. 2) and Nick Jonas (Boone Clemens) look like they only made their time on Scream Queens a one-season deal too.

Here Is Who’s Still In

Luckily, most of your favorite characters are still around. Hester (Lea Michele), Chad (Glen Powell), Sadie/Chanel No. 3 (Billie Lourd), Libby/Chanel No. 5 (Abigail Breslin), Zayday (Keke Palmer), Denise (Niecy Nash) and Dean Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) are all set to terrorize you again.

Here Is Who Just Got In

The action may not be taking place in a sorority this time (more on that later …), but getting into Scream Queens is still pretty competitive! This year, Cecily Strong will be popping up here and there as recurring character Catherine Hobart, and Colton Haynes will be appearing as Tyler. In more permanent capacities — and probably incapacities as the season goes on — John Stamos is scrubbing in as Dr. Brock Holt, Taylor Lautner is cutting into the role of Dr. Cassidy Cascade, and Kirstie Alley is … OK, so we don’t know her character’s name, but we do know she will be a scheming administrator. An administrator where, you ask? Well …

Location, Location, Location

Like we said, this season has graduated. Instead of being all about some unlucky undergrads, season 2 will focus on the characters’ new roles within a hospital known as the C.U.R.E. Institute. Oh, and did we mention that spooky old Dean Munsch is in charge of the spooky old institution?

Curtis, who plays Munsch, said during the show’s panel at the San Diego Comic-Con in July, “Everyone is exactly who they were, and the comedy is the same, and the characters are the same, and yet the world is really 100 percent different.”

Timing Is Everything

Scream Queens is pulling a Pretty Little Liars! Yes, for season 2, there will be a three-year time jump. Chanel Nos. 1, 3 and 5 were sentenced to life in an asylum when season 1 ended, but we’ve heard that the C.U.R.E Institute was once an asylum itself, so maybe the one they now work in is the same one! How they went from paper gowns to scrubs in three years is anyone’s guess, but we do know they are just there observing and helping out. Zayday completed her undergraduate studies in about two years and is the only actual med student around.

Sexy Surprises

Speaking of fast forwarding, let’s rewind a little. … Remember when we mentioned this season would feature John Stamos, Colton Haynes, Taylor Lautner and Glen Powell? Yeah, trust Us: We know it’s going to make Tuesdays the steamiest night of the week from now on. What’s even steamier is that there is a naked shower scene between Stamos and Powell! Now that’s something to scream about!

A New Kind of Chanel Wedding Dress

Emma Roberts was spotted wearing a lacy white gown and a veil on set, while poor Abigail Breslin was seen in a pale pink number accentuated by a dog collar. If Chanel No. 5 being made to wear a coordinated dog collar doesn’t scream “Chanel No. 1 is getting married!” to you, you need to go back and binge season 1 to reacquaint yourself with their dynamic.

A Body Brace Pairs Well With Heels

Abigail Breslin was spotted wearing something even worse than a dog collar at one point: a body brace! Chanel No. 5 really does not seem to be able to catch a break, does she? Or maybe she caught too many breaks, if you catch our drift!

The Fashions Are Still … Well, the Same

Aesthetics have always been a big part of Scream Queens, after all; the show won best contemporary makeup in a TV miniseries at the 2016 Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards, you know! With that in mind, you’d better believe that wedding dresses and body braces are just a sampling of the types of wearables that viewers can expect this season. Thanks to Instagram, we know that Chanel No. 3 will be rocking a selection of fab new earmuffs, and John Stamos will be rocking basically nothing.

Better yet, the Chanels are totally broke now, but that isn’t stopping them from improvising ways to live up to their campy college wardrobes. Emma Roberts shared that “they definitely have some fur stethoscopes and rhinestone stethoscopes. There’s definitely capes.” Billie Lourd, on the other hand, said their looks give off “very Simple Life vibes.”

What About Hester?

Hester is definitely back for season 2, but Lea Michele revealed in the SDCC panel that her murderous character will not be in the hospital with everyone else. She wouldn’t say where Hester will be, but she did quip, “My costume is very comfortable!”

Something tells Us that when people start showing up dead, Hester will be around some way or another. How much do her former sisters know about her, and how much are they going to learn? There’s only one way to find out …

Scream Queens airs on Fox Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
