Shailene Woodley has her first sex scene ever with Miles Teller in The Spectacular Now.

Welcome to womanhood! Shailene Woodley's Aimee Finicky loses her virginity to Miles Teller's Sutter Keely in The Spectacular Now, marking the actress' first-ever sex scene. During a July 24 appearance on The View, Woodley said she had no qualms about getting it on in the movie. "It's my favorite scene in the whole movie because it is so real," she said.

Woodley did caution that the scene may cause some moviegoers to squirm in their seats. "The audience does feel uncomfortable watching it because it almost feels like you're invading somebody's privacy," the California native warned. "There's not fancy music playing and there's not any exaggeration of what it's like to be intimate with somebody for possibly the first time. It's also just a minute-long shot of us making love."

The actress, 21, believes that the film is "the most authentic coming of age movie that we've had in maybe 20 years" and said it's akin to works by late filmmaker John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink).

"It's just such a real look at what adolescents are doing today, the way they interact with their parents and they way they interact with each other," the star said. "There's no glamour. They're not trying to make it something that's it not."

In fact, neither Woodley nor her costars wore makeup in the film. "There's zits," Woodley admitted. "It's so real!"

While none of her past loves reminded her of Sutter, Woodley said she can certainly relate to her character's journey. "I think there's a process that a lot of young girls go through in high school where they kind of lose themselves in a relationship," she said. "I actually think it's a really important part of life, because had I not gone through that, I wouldn't have taken the time to get to know myself and get to know my own needs."

The Spectacular Now is in theaters Aug. 2. The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. EST on ABC.
