Time to get creative. Maddie Brown learns at the last minute that her wedding dress doesn’t quite fit on Sister Wives‘ Sunday, December 11, episode, as seen in Us Weekly‘s exclusive sneak peek.
The TLC unscripted series’ preview clip shows the bride-to-be, 21, trying on her gown with mom Janelle Brown just days before she’s set to tie the knot with fiancé Caleb Brush. The scene follows Maddie having recently lost a significant amount of weight.
“I think the dress is too big,” Janelle tells the camera. “The problem is, the way this dress is built, she has to fill out the top of it, or it’s gonna fall down.”
“We don’t have the industrial sewing machines,” she continues. “We don’t have the equipment. I just think it’s gonna be better to just tape it.”
Janelle tells her daughter, “Maybe we just need to get a little tape to help you feel more secure in it, do you know what I mean? … Because I don’t want you to be walking down the aisle and [have to] stop and pull your dress up.”
Maddie agrees that the fit could be an issue, especially during the reception. “I’m a little worried about the dress — my biggest concern is that when I’m dancing, it won’t stay up,” she says in a testimonial. She then quips, “So yeah, I’m just going to try and eat a lot, which is probably gonna be a challenge. So we’ll see.”
