The force is strong with this one.
A man named Tom BetGeorge in Newark, Calif. took Christmas decorating to the next level when he put a Star Wars spin on his holiday lights display this month. BetGeorge’s stunning presentation took his neighborhood by storm and quickly went viral nationwide.
A music teacher at Oakland’s Conservatory of Vocal and Instrumental Arts, BetGeorge used 100,000 Christmas lights in various color and styles to pull off an incredible Star Wars-themed show.
Featuring a keyboard, electric guitar, candy canes, and mini Christmas trees made of lights, the choreographed number opens with John Williams‘ “Star Wars Main Theme.” It leads into other orchestral Stars Wars classics like “The Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme)” and “Cantina Band,” and even features a full-on lightsaber battle. The coordinated lights shine and change colors to the melody of the songs in an act that would make even Yoda proud.
“Honestly, it’s a little surreal,” BetGeorge told Yahoo! News about the attention he’s getting for his lights, adding that he worked on the project for about 1,000 hours. “It’s humbling. I anticipated that a lot of people like Star Wars, but I didn’t expect it to blow up like that.”
