Actor Stephen Moyer, who played vampire Bill Compton on True Blood, shared 25 hilarious and interesting facts about himself with Us Weekly. Moyer, 45, currently stars on The Bastard Executioner, which airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX.

1. Louis Armstrong has long been my hero.

2. My stage debut was at age 4 singing “Nellie the Elephant” in a talent competition. I didn’t win.

3. My worst audition was attempting a Welsh accent. I sounded like a Welshman who has lived most of his life in India.

4. I refused to have my hair cut over my ears until age 12.

5. I can unicycle and juggle at the same time.

6. I had a baked-bean eating competition while camping with my friend when I was 12. He ate so many in a short time that about 100 beans shot from his nose..

7. I supplemented my income through college by playing pool.

8. My real name is James, but my mum didn’t like the nickname “Jimmy,” so she changed it to Stephen when I was 6 months old.

9. I got to the second-highest level as a chorister in the church choir. My voice dropped before I could take the highest.

10. I used to walk down the aisle with my soccer cleats on because church was right after soccer.

11. I fell in a haunted house at age 10 and snapped my front tooth in half.

12. I stole my dad’s car at age 13 and drove down the motorway at 90 mph. I didn’t get caught. Sorry, dad!

13. I have never owned a car I did not crash.

14. I did smash up one that wasn’t mine. It was my friend’s new Audi convertible. Sorry, Nigel.

15. My sister Amanda and I built a slide with a plank of wood resting on a speaker. The speaker fell and we smashed through the window, below.

16. My happiest memory is jumping about 25 feet from a pile of pallets onto a tower of mattresses.

17. I once woke up in a prop cupboard, after a particularly long night, dressed as a camel.

18. My nickname growing up was “Dick.” There are a couple of reasons for that.

19. I lived on a boat in London for seven years.

20. Many, many mobile phones are in the canal next to where my boat is moored. And keys.

21. My old dog was named Flash, but he fell into the canal so often, I changed it to Splash.

22. He once chased a sheep off a cliff and I had to swim out into the ocean to save it.

23. I would only eat combinations of egg, bacon, and bread until age 9.

24. I love photography and still carry a film camera with me.

25. In my kitchen cupboard, I have about 35 jars of chutney. One dates back to 1998. My wife, Anna Paquin, thinks it’s gross.
