Put a ring on it! Maci Bookout and Taylor McKinney had some big wedding plans to make on the Monday, November 7, episode of Teen Mom OG. Meanwhile, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra celebrated one year of marriage, and Farrah Abraham was asked by the family of Sophia’s dad to do one thing for them if she ever gets hitched …
Farrah Furnishes a New Business Venture
Farrah took little Sophia to spend time with the youngster’s paternal grandparents. Sophia’s dad, Derek Underwood, died before she was born. Derek’s dad, Jerry, showed Sophia the sign on the highway they had named after him. While Sophia played, Farrah told Derek’s family about her plans to open a furniture store and children’s boutique, and they told her they’re proud. Still, they told her that if she ever got married, they hoped she wouldn’t let Sophia forget about her dad.
When she got back from Missouri, Farrah took her mom to where the furniture store was going to be … and she drove there in the new delivery truck she bought! The new store is a short distance from her existing frozen yogurt shop, FroCo. What a business mogul!
Maci Hears Wedding Bells
Maci and Taylor met up with her grandparents, Jack and Joyce, for dinner. It turned out to be a sly plot the whole time because Maci was gearing up to ask her grandfather to officiate their wedding!
“I’d be honored,” he said. Maci looked absolutely relieved as they started planning the vows that would work best for everyone.
Maci’s ex, Ryan, wasn’t quite planning vows, but he did have a new girlfriend named Mackenzie. She encouraged him to make nice with his dad, who he hadn’t spoken to in weeks. He took her advice and opted to visit his parents on a day that the cameras wouldn’t tag along, which impressed Us. We like Mackenzie already!
Speaking of Ryan’s parents, his mom went to Maci’s bridal shower and told her the news about Ryan and his dad reconciling. We don’t know how long everyone can remain one big, happy family, but we hope it lasts!
Amber Takes on Another Kid
Amber Portwood’s fiancé, Matt Baier, was still getting to know his son, Chris Baier, again after 10 years apart and a reunion during the previous episode. Matt was really worried that his son, who is an addict, was going to backslide into bad behavior, so he asked Amber if Chris could live with them. Acting like a father is better late than never, it seems!
They asked Chris, and he agreed. The day he moved in, Amber wore an MTV shirt, which we thought was pretty cute! Finally, a logo the Teen Mom editors didn’t have to blur in post!
Speaking of, you know, TV shows, they joked with him that he’d have to do a better job monitoring his friends and family now that he was on one. Get it? Because he said a bunch of awful stuff about Matt to a tabloid? Anyway, then they made plans for him to meet Amber’s daughter, Leah, which we can’t wait to see.
Catelynn Plans Ahead — Way Ahead
Sadly, Tyler revealed that he and Cate hadn’t seen their first daughter, Carly, that year. Her adoptive parents hadn’t seemed super open to letting them visit, so he was starting to worry they wouldn’t see her in the coming years, either. They met with their adoption counselor toward the end of the episode, reviewing the agreement they’d made when they first gave Carly up. They had signed documents saying they would initiate visits, but the adoptive parents could veto them. Obviously, Catelynn and Tyler looked sad to be reminded of that; they had no recourse.
“I was 16 years old when I made those decisions!” Cate vented before she burst into tears.
They went out to the dunes for their first anniversary and put their troubles behind them for a while as they drove buggies and had a picnic. Catelynn wondered out loud what their next anniversary would look like, saying, “Hopefully we’ll have another little ball of terror on the way …”
Tyler said, “Whoa!” which we totally agree with. Catelynn, seriously, whoa! That’s a really bold new life choice for someone who just got out of rehab. Take it slowly!
