Just getting shadier! Even more Fifty Shades of Grey is officially on its way.
The raunchy flick has already made more than $558.3 million in the month since its international release, but Fifty Shades of Grey is about to get new life with an upcoming Blu-ray and digital HD edition.
While the big-screen adaptation of E L James' erotic novel already boasted an R-rating, the DVD arrives with an unrated version. Due out on digital on May 1 and in stores on May 8, the unrated Fifty Shades boasts new scenes, boundary-pushing footage, and even an alternate ending.
There has been little information from James or the movie's stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson on the reimagined closing scenes. The theatrical version ends abruptly, showing a brief goodbye to Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele after their relationship has taken a turn.
In addition to the new, raunchy shots, the Fifty Shades of Grey take-home edition will also offer copious bonus elements, including interviews with the cast and crew. A sneak peek at the footage is offered in a new digital HD and Blu-ray trailer, which made its way online on Tuesday, March 24.
Coming in at just over one minute, the preview juxtaposes original movie scenes with interview moments with Johnson, Dornan, and James.
"Christian and Ana meet each other and they both happen to be each other's Achilles' heel," Johnson, 25, explains.
"I knew from the start that it would be a passionate love story," adds best-selling author James, 52. "I always described it as a love story with a kink."
