Viewers definitely watch The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for the right reasons: to see things get crazy! (Oh, and to see people fall in love, blah blah blah.) Jesse Palmer Says the Wrong Woman's Name
Which one is which? If you've ever wondered how the Bachelors can keep all the names of their many women straight after just meeting them, Jesse Palmer is right there with you. The season 5 hunk, who is currently an ESPN analyst, pulled an epic gaffe in his premiere episode when he called Katie's name and gave her a rose. He then stopped the rose ceremony and pulled host Chris Harrison aside to reveal that he actually meant to say "Karen." Oops! In the end, producers let him hand out one extra rose. Palmer's final pick was Jessica Bowlin, although the pair split shortly after the finale.

Brad Womack Rejects Both of His Final Two Women
None of the above! Brad Womack left season 11 fans stunned when he ended his relationships with both Deanna Pappas and Jenni Croft in the finale. The show gave the bar owner a second shot at love in season 15, but that didn't turn out much better, with Womack and pick Emily Maynard splitting shortly after the season's conclusion.

Jason Mesnick Changes His Mind — After the Finale
Try again! Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft in the season 13 finale, but it apparently wasn't meant to be. In the live After the Final Rose special that followed, Mesnick ended things with Rycroft and revealed his lingering affection for runner-up Molly Malaney. But all's well that end's well: He and Malaney tied the knot in an ABC special in 2010 and now have two children.

Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi End Things Publicly — and Painfully
The Bachelor season 14's Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi never seemed to be an obvious match. Their incompatibility was made crystal clear in their interview with Chris Harrison during a special segment of a season 6 Bachelorette episode, with the pilot memorably yelling at his ex-fiancée to not interrupt him, causing her to burst into tears. Love is such an eternal flame.

Bentley Williams Isn't Feeling Ashley Hebert
The Bachelorette season 7's Bentley Williams became known as one of the franchise's most notorious villains after Ashley Hebert quickly found herself smitten with him. He openly told cameras that he had no interest in Hebert and wanted to make her cry, adding that he wished the Bachelorette had been Emily Maynard. Williams voluntarily quit the show in the third episode, breaking the dentist's heart. Luckily, everything worked out in the end, with J.P. Rosenbaum proposing to Hebert in the finale. The couple wed in 2012 and have a son, Fordham.

Ben Flajnik Strips Down With Courtney Robertson
Where we're going, we don't need clothes! The Bachelor season 16 star Ben Flajnik did not let modesty get the best of him when he joined Courtney Robertson to go skinny-dipping in Puerto Rico. Alas, their affection for each other quickly shrank, and the pair split not long after viewers saw the winemaker propose to the polarizing model in the finale.

Brooks Forester Walks Away From Desiree Hartsock
It's been fun — I'll see you never! Brooks Forester was clearly Desiree Hartsock's top pick on The Bachelorette season 9 — until he blindsided her by calling it quits in Antigua during the fantasy-suites episode. The wedding planner was devastated but managed to still find love on the show with poetry-adoring Chris Siegfried. The pair tied the knot in 2015.

Andi Dorfman Says Adios to Juan Pablo Galavis
It's not OK. After a Bachelor season 18 fantasy-suite date that was clearly not fantastic, Andi Dorfman called out Juan Pablo Galavis the next morning for disrespecting her. During the dramatic exchange, the assistant district attorney chided the former soccer player for trying to play with her eyebrow, not to mention constantly saying, "It's OK." Dorfman voluntarily left the show but returned to the franchise as the star of The Bachelorette season 10. She and final pick Josh Murray split in 2015.

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Nick Viall Give in to Temptation
Let's talk about sex, baby. Kaitlyn Bristowe found herself instantly smitten with latecomer Nick Viall on The Bachelorette season 11, and the two ended up in bed well before the fantasy-suites episode, which is typically when the show's couples first spend the night together. But perhaps the night wasn't as unforgettable as it could have been, as Bristowe ultimately saved her final rose for Shawn Booth. Bristowe and Booth are currently still engaged.

Ben Higgins Says 'I Love You' to Lauren Bushnell — and JoJo Fletcher
Two I love you's are better than one? That appeared to be The Bachelor season 20 star Ben Higgins' mindset, as he said the L-word to both Lauren Bushnell and JoJo Fletcher during the fantasy-suite episode. Time for a cold shower, buddy.

Arie Luyendyk Jr. Changes His Mind After the Final Rose
The former race car driver became one of the most controversial Bachelors of all time when he proposed to Becca Kufrin on the season 22 finale, and then decided he wanted to be with the runner-up, Lauren Burnham. ABC decided to air Luyendyk Jr. and Kufrin’s breakup scene uncut and unedited, which some fans and Bachelor alum thought was cruel and unnecessary. Viewers continued to have mixed reactions to Luyendyk Jr. when he proposed to Burnham during the After the Final Rose special on March 6, 2018. The pair appear to be happily engaged, while Kufrin’s heartbreak turned into her own opportunity for a fairytale when ABC name her The Bachelorette.
