MTV’s 'The Hills’ Revival: Everything We Know About ‘New Beginnings'

The rest will be written in 2019! During the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards on Monday, August 20, the network announced that The Hills will return next year with a new series, New Beginnings. Justin Bobby Brescia, Stephanie Pratt, Frankie Delgado, Jason Wahler and wife Ashley, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Pratt and Spencer Pratt all walked the pink carpet on at the VMAs at Radio City Music Hall in New York City to promote the revival, which will also include some news faces. All Together Again

Fans got their first glimpse at the Hills: New Beginnings cast on the small screen in a trailer posted in May 2019. The teaser featured original favorites including Patridge, Wahler and Montag, as well as newcomers Delgado, Lee and Barton. “Life has drastically changed,” Montag said in the video. Jenner, for his part, gushed, “It’s nice to be back.”

Welcome to the Hills, Bitch

MTV confirmed on October 3 that actress Mischa Barton, best known for her role as Marissa Cooper on The O.C., is joining the cast of revival.

All in the Family

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee’s son, 22-year-old Brandon Lee, is joining the cast of the revival, MTV confirmed on October 15.

Lo Says No

Lo Bosworth, who appeared on seasons 1 and 2 of Laguna Beach and The Hills seasons 2 to 6, will not be featured on the revival. She told Us on October 2 that not having “control of [her] own narrative is just way too risky” at this point in her life. Bosworth also joked she’s “just too old to go back into the lion’s den.”

Brody’s Back

Us Weekly confirmed on September 13 that Brody Jenner and his wife, Kaitlynn Carter, will appear on the revival.

Kids in The Hills

The revival is set to show both the stars and their children, MTV revealed in the press release, which means Patridge’s 2-year-old daughter, Kirra, could appear. “Most likely I wouldn’t have her on it, but we’ll see,” Patridge, 33, recently told Us. “I don’t know if they want a story line or if they want what’s real.”

Baby Time

Heidi and Spencer brought baby Gunnar along to the VMAs, so there’s a good chance he’ll be appearing on the show.

Homeboy Returns

Justin Bobby, 36, has been working as a musician and hairdresser since the show ended in 2010, but he will appear, alongside his ex Patridge. The show will follow the cast’s “personal and professional” lives.

Sister, Sister

Pratt, who famously butted heads with her brother during the show, will return in the revival.

Back on Track

Jason Wahler and wife Ashley Wahler looked happier than ever at the VMAs. Lauren Conrad’s ex battled with alcohol during his time on the original show and revealed in April that he had relapsed. However, he got help and has been open about his recovery on social media.

Bringing Back the City

While she wasn’t in attendance, Whitney Port, who starred on The Hills and landed her own spinoff, The City, afterward, is also set to appear. She confirmed the news on her Instagram on August 21, writing, "Good thing I get to go back and make up for my insane looks on #thehills on the NEW HILLS REBOOT!!! Maybe they’ll let me out of the fashion closet this time." She later added that she was excited "for everybody to follow along in what's happening with our lives, and to show more of the balance, or lack thereof. And it's a fun adventure for me, in my almost mid-30s, to be back on TV.”

The Bitch Is Not Back

After infamously appearing for the final season and a half of The Hills, Kristin Cavallari will not return for the revival. Instead, she’s heading up her own reality show on E!, Very Cavallari, which follows her life with husband Jay Cutler and her store in Nashville. However, she did tell Us she'll be tuning in!

LC-Ya!

LC will also be absent from the revival, which doesn’t come as a surprise to many, as the mother of Liam, 13 months, has made her life very private since leaving the show in 2009. Plus, the show will add in new faces to the mix, including two bloggers and a celebrity!
