The Cravings author has been at the center of several disagreements about her recipes, restaurant recommendations and more and isn't afraid to make her feelings known. Teigen also doesn't shy away from standing up to her critics or admitting when she's made a mistake. For example, when she made her version of a tuna casserole amid the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, which was topped with jalapeño chips and cheddar cheese, she wasn't afraid to clap back at a Twitter user who dubbed the dish "gross." Recipe Dispute

A Twitter troll accused the star of stealing recipes from someone named "Chef Mike" in May 2020. Teigen vehemently denied the unfounded accusation and explained that she had never even heard of the cook. "Please tell me who this chef mike is? so I can speak to him? I have never stolen a recipe from anyone and I actively talk about the restaurants I love," she shot back. "Imagine the ego to think someone is copying you when they haven't heard of you?"

The Alison Roman Situation

When cookbook author Roman criticized Teigen's success in a May 2020 magazine interview and accused her of running a "content farm," the cookware designer took to Twitter to share that the remarks were a "huge bummer." The saga caused Teigen to temporarily leave Twitter, though she soon returned to formally accept Roman's apology for her "careless" statements.

However, the drama continued when the former model was heavily criticized after The New York Times confirmed to Us that Roman's column was on "temporary leave" following the feud. "I hope we can laugh about it one day, but I’m not happy with the NYT leave. So she def can’t laugh about it yet,” Teigen tweeted at the time in response to a user who asked where she stood with Roman after the feud. “It just sucks in every way."

Catty Criticism

While in quarantine amid the coronavirus crisis in March 2020, Teigen whipped up a tuna casserole topped with jalapeño chips and cheddar cheese. When the dish was ready, her husband, John Legend, carefully removed it from the oven and Teigen shared a clip of the unveiling on Twitter. One of her followers proceeded to call the meal "gross," to which the Utah native shot back: "Good thing it’s not for u."

The Cravings author came under fire in a similar fashion in December 2018 when Instagram users slammed her for mixing kimchi with her hands. "I’m making kimchi for my family. I don’t care what ‘critics’ think of it,” she tweeted to the naysayers at the time. “I do however worry that their loveless food really, really sucks."

Delivery Drama

At the start of the coronavirus crisis in March 2020, when many restaurants were forced to shut down, the star took some heat on Twitter after she encouraged her followers to order food using a company called Goldbelly, which delivers eats from around the country. “This is not an ad but if you’re holed up at home, ordering America’s best food from Goldbelly is the way to go right now!” she wrote in a since-deleted message. “Currently shipping clam chowder from Boston to myself."

Teigen clarified that she was supporting a small business that could likely use the sale, but later admitted that her tweet was ill-timed given the circumstances. "I didn’t mean it to sound like I don’t care about the pandemic? it was tweeted quite innocently, perhaps tone deaf but I like soup and if you can support these businesses, then that seemed cool but yeah if you can’t, then that is also fine," she explained in response. "I am not shaming you."

Fresh Food Feud

Believe it or not, Teigen was actually criticized for feeding her children fresh fruit. The incident happened in March 2020, after the star shared a video via her Cravings website in which she explained how she created a “menu” for Luna after the toddler became a picky eater. The menu included Corn Flakes topped with raspberries, and Cheerios served with blueberries, which naysayers noted are not affordable for everyone. “I think I gotta leave the internet,” Teigen quipped in response to some vocal critics at the time.

Safety First

After cooking together with Luna in November 2019, Teigen fielded criticism from a well-meaning Twitter user who was concerned about the toddler's proximity to the stove. Though the Bring the Funny judge did most of the work in the kitchen, she let her daughter sit on the kitchen counter once the meal was done cooking to help spoon some sauce over the dish. "I love you love you,” the fan began. “But please get that girl away from the stove, even if it’s off." Teigen replied: "We’re good. I’m clearly right here. And she has spent most her life in the kitchen." She also noted that the appliance had been "off for hours."

Restaurant Recommendation Critique

Less than 24 hours after the launch of her Cravings website in November 2019, the star was dragged for publishing a list of some of her personal favorite restaurants in L.A. Los Angeles Times staff writer Jenn Harris likened some of Teigen's food choices to “the orange chicken from Panda Express” and took issue with the fact that many of her go-to haunts were located in popular L.A. enclaves as opposed to some of the city’s thriving ethnic neighborhoods. Though Teigen initially took the feedback with a grain of salt, she later called it "super mean."

"I don’t go out much. I love home,” she explained on Twitter at the time. “The list is an honest list [of] places that we love when I DO get dressed, and doesn’t mean more!"
