Mascara makers have made us a lot of promises. False promises. Every time we order a new mascara, we think, “This is the one.” We can feel it. But then we apply it and our lashes turn into clumpy spiders, or we become raccoons, covered in smudges and only willing to come out in the dark so no one can see our eyes. It’s time we take advice from someone who’s been there before . . . and found a way out of the darkness.
Rimmel’s Lash Accelerator mascara could be the mascara that changes everything. It certainly was for Chelsea Handler. The comedian and actress shared her beauty secrets with The New York Times, revealing that she tries to wear this mascara every single day and noting that it helps her with “looking awake.” She admits that she once used Latisse, but after it caused her lashes to fall out, she’s stuck to Lash Accelerator and isn’t looking back!

Handler admitted to being “very into” her lashes, and she uses this two-in-one mascara and lash growth treatment to keep them healthy and glamorous. She also said she likes to put castor oil on her lashes every night to keep them moist. Know what else has castor oil in it? This mascara!
Rimmel claims that the Lash Accelerator mascara works both “instantly and overtime.” The instant effect is that after we apply this mascara, our lashes may appear up to 80% longer thanks to the “ultra-lengthening” formula. In the long term, though, the Grow-Lash Complex may actually have our lashes looking up to 117% longer in just 30 days!
Hundreds of shoppers have left glowing reviews on this mascara, one saying their lash growth was natural but noticeable, as opposed to the overly dramatic effect of hard-to-use falsies. Another said that with this mascara, they can achieve extremely smooth application. No clumps! Others commented on just why this mascara is so much better than others they’ve tried. One said this is the first mascara that hasn’t caused their eyes to turn red and tear up. Another mentioned that unlike other mascaras, Lash Accelerator doesn’t make their eyelashes fall out! Yeah, we’d definitely prefer that too.

This mascara and lash treatment claims to “strengthen, nourish and renew” our lashes, leaving us with more long-term improvement than a temporary 12-hour maximum makeup application. Soon enough, we may even be able to ditch the curler!
This mascara is available in Extreme Black, as well as a softer Black shade. We may choose Extreme Black for smokier looks or more formal occasions if we really want our lashes to pop. We also totally advocate for wearing it every day because why not? Whichever we choose, though, we’re sure it’s only a matter of seconds until someone comments on our new and improved stare!
