There are few drops we get as excited about as Something Navy. The line, started by fashion blogger and influencer Arielle Charnas, is the very encapsulation of downtown cool. Each piece is intended to look just as effortlessly glam in-person as it does on Instagram and trust Us — if you’ve ever used the app as a source of style inspiration, chances are, your favorite fashionistas were decked out in Charnas’ wares.
The brand boasts way more than just a cool girl factor. Each item is inspired by the mom-of-two’s quintessential personal style. From menswear-inspired staples like longline coats and carefully-structured loafers to relaxed-fit sweaters in an array of colors ranging from neutrals to brights, there truly is something for every occasion. There is plenty of holiday party finds, too, from cute sequin headbands and shoulder-baring tops that are ready to take cocktail hour by storm.
Our favorite find from the new Something Navy drop, however, isn’t a sparkly jumpsuit or a dramatic ivory coat (though if we’re being totally honest, both are beautiful). Rather, the one item that we couldn’t wait to add to our carts is a sweaterdress. Not just any sweaterdress either — this one is somehow both dramatic and low-key.

The Something Navy Metallic Stripe Sweaterdress is hands-down our favorite find from the Something Navy December collection! The Nordstrom-exclusive style is a spin on a traditional sweaterdress, with dramatic detailing and a totally trendy silhouette. Unlike many traditional knit dresses, this one floats away from the body instead of clinging to each and every curve, making it a great option for wearing to dinner dates, brunch with the girls and it’s even appropriate enough to wear to work (with a pair of slacks or tights, of course!) It’s a great option to wear with over-the-knee boots and even ankle booties when we choose to bare a little more leg. We can even pair it with sneakers and high heels, pending on whether we’re looking for a casual or a dressed up glam look.
It’s truly all in the details with the beautiful dress. The sleeves are made for scrunching up or leaving as is (trust Us, both look equally good). It boasts a beautiful striped pattern in alternating shades of cream and silver. There are even festive metallic stripes running throughout the pretty frock.
If the silhouette seems a little familiar, you’re not wrong! The dress has echoes of a frock from the November launch — a maxi sweaterdress from the brand! Unlike the new iteration of the style, this knit sweaterdress is made to contour the body and closely hug any curves. There’s a swingy pleated hem that’s ideal for dancing the night away, as well as a low-cut neckline that’s perfect for a night out. Reviewers doted on the style, too, saying that the beautiful dress has surprisingly great quality despite the accessible price tag and that it’s not too clingy yet extremely flattering.
Since the Metallic Stripe Sweater Dress is a new arrival (it dropped today, December 13!) it doesn’t have any reviews quite yet, but we bet it’s only a matter of time before shoppers declare this find as much of a winter must-have as we did.
The best part about the metallic dress? It’s made to be as versatile as it is beautiful! Pair the head-turning dress with a pair of shin-height booties and dangly earrings. Want a more boho-inspired look? Try wearing it with a layered necklace, Western boots and sunnies for an outfit that’s double-tap worthy. It can even be paired with an oversized sweater and the bottom can peek out like a skirt! Just finish off with a pair of knee-high boots for added warmth.
For a decidedly chic, downtown-esque spin on the dress, pair with a metallic belt to cinch in the waist and high-heel booties for added drama. After an office-appropriate vibe? We got you covered! Team with an oversized navy or jet-black blazer, opaque black tights, a red lipstick and high heels. Word of warning: Better believe everyone in the office will want to know where you got your outfit.
