Bey didn’t give it the “Green Light”! On Monday, May 4, photographers anxiously awaited Beyonce’s arrival at the 2015 Met Gala. But the pop diva, 33, didn’t arrive until an hour after the last celeb walked the red carpet.
Naturally, she turned heads in a sheer jaw-dropping Givenchy gown — with floral jeweled embellishments that covered her intimates and a cutout back — that left little to the imagination, but a source tells Us Weekly that the bold look wasn’t her first (which was, in fact, a red ensemble).
While looking on Instagram on her way to the swanky NYC event, the “Flawless” singer “saw what everyone was wearing and made her driver turn around and go home so she could change" into another dress she had on hand, an insider tells Us. She wanted something racier and sexier for the carpet.
Queen Bey’s rep denied this intel, adding, “It is untrue. The dress she wore was always the dress she was going to wear.”
Another source notes, “It takes months of planning to create the one look, and they only ever planned that one dress."
One look that definitely did change was the Grammy winner’s hair. Her longtime stylist Neal Farinah dished to Us that it was previously wrapped up in “an asian-inspired chignon” before taking it down and switching it into a high ponytail in the elevator of her apartment building.
“We didn’t have a mirror, just the reflection of the elevator door!” Farinah dished.
