On Wednesday, September 9, a Twitter user shared a link to a Newsweek story about the controversy, writing, “absolutely disgusted!” Then another person commented, tagging all of Franzel’s Instagram sponsors from CVS to Pantene to Olay. “They need to see this!” the user wrote.

Skincare giant Olay promptly responded. “Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention,” the brand tweeted back. “We no longer have a business relationship with this person and have no plans for future work together. We have zero-tolerance for bullying and we do not support the behavior displayed by this person.”

Another tweeted, “Thank you @OlaySkin for standing up for the rights of those with Autism!  Love your products and now love them even more!  #OlayforLife #ThankYou.”

The beauty brand wasn’t the only company to comment. Winery Chateau Ste. Michelle also stepped up.

“Hello, thank you for bringing the situation regarding Nicole Franzel and the current season of Big Brother to our attention,” the brand initially tweeted on Thursday, September 10. “We don’t tolerate discrimination of any kind. We are reviewing the matter and will follow-up with our course of action. Thank you again.”

The winery then followed up writing, “Our connection with Nicole was made prior to her joining the current show. We took immediate action to review once we learned of the situation & have thus decided to end our collaboration now and in the future. We do not tolerate or condone discrimination or bullying of any kind.”

This criticism comes after an unaired clip from Big Brother: All-Stars circulated on Twitter, featuring Franzel and Dani Briones talking about Ian’s “rocking.”

“I can’t even look at him sometimes because [of] his constant movement. It stresses me out,” Dani said. “I feel mean saying that, but I’ll literally have to move.”
