That didn’t last very long! Demi Lovato went back to her natural brunette hair color on Friday, October 21, just five days after she surprised fans by debuting her blonde locks.
The “Confident” singer, 24, unveiled her latest hair makeover to her 48.6 million followers on Instagram Stories, where she shared a photo of herself in bed, smirking from behind her dark tresses.
“Back to brown,” Lovato captioned the shot alongside a laughing face emoji.
Earlier in the week, the Disney alum revealed her self-proclaimed “Goldie Locks” blonde hairdo via Instagram, where fans complimented the look and described her as “beautiful” and “stunning.”
Lovato’s ever-changing hairstyles come weeks after she revealed she’s ready to take some time away from the limelight next year. The entertainer tweeted on October 4, “So excited for 2017. Taking a break from music and the spotlight. I am not meant for this business and the media.”
She later replied to a fan who asked if she plans on returning to social media at some point, writing, “Dunno. It doesn’t feel worth it anymore. I’d rather do charity work.”
In June, Lovato faced another unexpected change in her life when she and her boyfriend of six years, actor Wilmer Valderrama, called it quits on their relationship.
“Being sick was always a part of my relationship with him,” she explained to Glamour magazine of how her battles with eating disorders, mental illness and substance abuse played a role in the split. “I always had something wrong with me. I needed to let go of that.”
