Chopping it off, and letting it go! Idina Menzel didn't think twice about giving her brunette locks a quick trim (and adding some bang!) early Thursday morning. On June 12, the Frozen actress debuted new bangs to all her followers via Instagram.
"Impulsive two minute haircut… BANG! @tedgibson," the 43-year-old wrote. Alongside the caption, the Broadway veteran shared a cute picture of herself still wrapped up in a black hair salon towel.
Celeb hairstylist Ted Gibson—who also works with Lupita N'yongo and Anne Hathaway—gave Menzel long bangs, with an addition of tousled layers and texture to top off the chic look. Gibson applied Kerastase Specifique Densitive GL for body and Kerastase's Mousse Bouffant for more volume.
"Idina's bangs were an impulse decision. We've been talking about it for a while, but this morning seemed like the perfect time to take the leap!" Gibson tells Us Weekly. "I kept her bang longer because I wanted the look to be more effortless and not as if it was freshly cut."
"Side-swept bangs are great for women of any age! Bangs are bangin'—they are flirty, sexy and also emphasize the eyes and cheekbones," he added. "They can really take years off of any woman's face."
Fresh off her Tony Awards performance earlier this week, the If/Then star now joins stars like Jessica Chastain, Mindy Kaling, Emma Stone, and Katie Holmes who've dared to try the fringe style.
