Crowning glory! Kate Bosworth attended the SAG Foundation’s Conversation on her TV series, The Art of More, on Tuesday, Oct. 27, in a braided hairstyle so effortless and eye-catching that it became our beauty crush of the day.
A boho braid lends a low-key air to a formal look — and the Blue Crush alum’s stunning style nailed it. “For Kate’s look last night, we wanted to do a ‘cool girl’ braid. Something a bit different, but not too flashy,” celeb hairstylist Bridget Brager tells Us.
After first creating ‘bed head’ waves with Sachajuan Ocean Mist sea-salt spray and the T3 Whirl Trio Wand, Brager got down to the main business of braiding. “I created a deep side part, then Dutch-braided [meaning, the braid sticks out] the hair down the side of her head, following her hairline,” Brager says. “The idea was to have the braid continuing its way down, just behind the ear and then wrap it around the nape. I secured it with a bobby pin.”
The finishing touch? Kevin Murphy Powder Puff hair powder, which creates volume and texture in the braid, and a few pieces pulled loose and separated for a more “lived-in” feel.
