Fear not, Jon Snow fans, Kit Harington‘s luscious brown locks aren’t going anywhere anytime soon. The Game of Thrones actor confessed that he’s actually contractually obligated to keep its length.
“It has its own contract definitely,” he said on Live with Kelly and Michael on Tuesday, June 10. “I never thought I’d say that about my own hair.”
Whereas some actresses like Nashville‘s Hayden Panettiere wear a wig to maintain consistency while filming, Harington, 27, is stuck with his shoulder-length curls. “I’m just not allowed to cut it, and I didn’t realize this until recently. I wanted to cut it. I’ve had long hair for ages and they were like, ‘no, no, no, that won’t be happening,'” he revealed.
As for his character’s predicament on the season finale, airing June 15 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET, the How to Train Your Dragon 2 star is dubious of Jon Snow’s plan to leave The Wall to have a powwow with his adversary, wilding leader Mance Rayder. “He’s in a bit of a spot of bother, isn’t he?” he said. “It’s not a particularly good plan, really.”
Harington otherwise remained tight-lipped about his character’s fate, saying, “I don’t want to tell you what happens because I may be out of a job now, so I’m not going to say a thing.”
