When we say that Smith is hands-on with Milly, we mean it. The designer tries on every piece that she makes to check the quality. “It allows me to put a lot of love into every piece,” she tells Stylish.
Samira Wiley returned that love by wearing a black and green halter gown to the 2016 CFDA Awards, where she was Smith’s date. And the first lady, 52, stunned in a black, off-the-shoulder dress with exaggerated bell sleeves on the cover of Essence’s October 2016 issue. “I was so excited and so honored to have these beautiful and accomplished women wearing my clothes,” Smith gushed.
